You can tell we’re doing something right in Tumbler Ridge as our growth rateincreased by 27.3% from 2001 to 2003, 5.28% from 2003 to 2006 and 10.4% from 2006 to 2011 (Census). Whether you are attracted to the quiet, small town feel, the clean and secure community or being in the shadow of the beautiful Rocky Mountains, Tumbler Ridge is the place to be. As of 2014 we predict our population to be around 3500. Statistics also show that the population in our community is both well educated and highly skilled. The percentage of the population with post-secondary education is above the provincial average and individuals with trade certificates is nearly 10% higher. The Northern Lights College is an active participant in the training of the local workforce and it is situated right here in Tumbler Ridge. This is complimented by Northern Opportunities, an innovative partnership in Northeastern BC that is dedicated to providing seamless transition for students between secondary and post-secondary institutions.
